Bonza Suspending all Flights

Recently, Australia’s newest budget airline, Bonza, has been under some financial issues and as of today has suspended all flights and grounded all aircraft until further notice.

From day one the airline has been a questionable topic and now it has shown why. While all hope is not quite lost, the airline is most likely to collapse. The leasing company of Bonza’s aircraft, AIP Capital Leasing notified Bonza’s CEO Tim Jordan at 3am in the morning that they would be reprocessing all Bonza aircraft fleet as they could see no further future in the low-cost carrier.

Unfortunately, this meant Bonza was forced to leave hundreds of passengers stranded at airports around Australia. The airline also said to all Bonza staff to go home as of today and into the future. That is over 300+ jobs lost. The financial issues were caused by Bonza having a lot of competition so when negotiating queue slots with major airports it became very expensive resulting in the airline having to fly to more regional areas where not many other airlines fly to.

While the future of the airline is very uncertain, it’s not confirmed that this is the last we will see of the airline as there are still further discussions that need to be made between Bonza and their leasing company.
