Fast jets roar into action over Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast

For the second year in a row, the Pacific Airshow brought their extravagant airshow down under to the Gold Coast after establishing itself as one of Americas top airshows, now its one of Australia’s best too.

The Pacific Airshow is one of the largest airshows in Australia, attracting over 250,000 guests over the three day event - a total sell out. During the event, local hotel occupancy was at 100% capacity. With an economic impact estimated to be over $30 million.

And organisers are already promising that the 2025 airshow will be even bigger and better with ideas of changing the airshow to be more of an aviation festival and extend to longer than just three days.

Whether you’re an aviation geek, a history buff or have a kid who’s simply obsessed with planes – the Pacific Airshow lineup was sure to get your heart racing.

The lineup was the even larger than the 2023 airshow and is expected to grow even more in 2025. This years display lineup included 2x USAF F-22 Raptors, a F/A-18 and an F-35A Lightning from the RAAF, a KC-135 C-17 and Poseidon from the USAF, two Yak 55’s strapped together to make a Yak 110, Mall Hall’s MXS racer, plenty of warbirds including warbirds from the RAAF 100 SQN, and many, MANY more.

The airshow had numerous highlights, but the top shots of the show were the extreme noise from all the advanced fighter jets on show, the Yak 110 flown by Jeff Boerboon, the huge Freedom Formation, Matt Hall and Emma Mcdonald's precise display in their powerful race aircraft, as well as many more exhilarating displays and the extensive precinct filled with static displays, pilot meet and greets and much more.

The extremely low flying and colourful aircraft with thick aerobatic smoke billowing from behind the airplanes made for great photos. With high speed fighter jets racing past with bright flickering afterburners and sparkling flares and pulling up to 9 g’s.

In August 2025, the Pacific Airshow team will showcase the world's best civilian performers and elite military aviators once again with an unmissable, family-friendly event that includes aerial displays, high-octane antics, rare and vintage aircraft and plenty of thrills best viewed from Show Centre, located on the beach.
