Dallas is on track to become Fiji Airways’ fifth North American destination after Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver.

The inaugural flight, FJ 890, will depart Nadi bound for Dallas at 21:15 on Tuesday 10th of December. The aircraft will then arrive in Texas at 15:20 the same day after a 12-hour and 5-minute flight across the Pacific and part of the USA.

The return flight from Dallas, FJ 891, will depart at 21:55 on Tuesday 10th of December and arrive back in Fiji at 05:20 on Thursday 12th of December after a slightly longer 13-hour and 25-minute return leg.

Fiji’s new route will be flown three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The route will be operated by Fiji Airways’ Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft. Their A350 jets are configured for 334 passengers in a two-class layout, 33 Business and 301 Economy, which recently won Best Economy Class in Australia and Pacific.

Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen said “Introducing a direct service between Fiji and Dallas is a really exciting milestone for Fiji Airways, as we continue to increase Fiji’s connectivity with the United States and beyond offering our guests more travel options.”

“DFW is excited to add the beautiful islands of Fiji to our growing portfolio of international destinations, bringing North Texas nonstop access to a tropical paradise and connecting Nadi with DFW’s network of more than 250 destinations around the world,” said Sean Donohue, DFW’s Chief Executive Officer.

Fiji's expansion comes just a few weeks after the airline announced it would adopt the American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty program. Travellers will soon be able to earn and redeem AAdvantage miles from all Fiji Airways flights as well as being able to enjoy reciprocal loyalty benefits for elite members.

Fiji Airways also recently received approval to join the Oneworld airline alliance by 2025.
