The campaign is in celebration of KFC’s 12-year partnership with the five New Zealand Super Rugby Pacific teams (Blues, Hurricanes, Chiefs, Highlanders and Crusaders). KFC has now developed a plan to get Kiwis to the match faster than ever before.
You can enter the draw to win a flight on the jet by ordering something through the KFC app and adding a Zing Air boarding pass to your cart.
The jet that will operate the flights is a Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign jet. The exact registration of the jet is unconfirmed but Oceania Aviation Insider believes the KFC branded jet is ZK-ZEK, owned and operated by Air Ops Jet Ltd.. The jet regularly flys throughout New Zealand and occasionally overseas to nearby Australia and the Pacific Islands.
The Cessna Citation Sovereign is a light mid-size business jet able to land into smaller airfields. The aircraft can carry up to eight passengers and has a range of up to 3200 nautical miles.
The jet will operate a total of five flights between cities ahead of Super Rugby matches. The first flight of the KFC jet is scheduled for Saturday March 1st when it will fly from Auckland to Wellington.

All of the flights flown by Zing Air are carbon-neutral. KFC has engaged with a carbon offsetting scheme, to offset 100% of the carbon emissions from flights via a native planting project in Maruia.
“Last year we delivered fans to the game via the KFC Gravy Train and now, with KFC Zing Air, we’ve cooked up a brand-new way for fans to get even closer to the action.”
